Ken Steele
One of the first names to be added when the Alumni club was formed in the Summer of 2011. Ken’s contribution to the club over his years of service started in 1988 joining as a player from Plessey FC. In 1994 he took over as 1st team manager and relinquished that to become Chairman of Arnold Southbank in 2004. Ken together with Adrian Hall played a key role in the founding of Gedling Southbank in 2006/07 becoming its inaugural Chairman for the first two seasons. He continues to play an active role in the club as Vice Chairman & Club Development Officer.
Adrian Hall
As the current club Chairman, Adrian has been with the club for 18 years as parent, manager, club secretary, Vice Chairman and Chairman. Both of his sons played for the club as well as his current wife’s 3 lads. 3 out of the 5 still play with the senior section today. Together with Ken Steele, Adrian worked hard to form the club into its current state from the two former clubs, Gedling AFC and Arnold Southbank.
Stewart Crisp
Stewart joined the club in the late 1970’s and continued to play for the club well into his 50’s. He was also Chairman of Southbank throughout the late 1980’s through to the early 2000’s when he relinquished his role and accepted an invitation to become a club Vice President. Stewart can still be seen most Saturdays at a Southbank game
Bob Roberts
Currently a Vice President, Bob joined the club as a player in the mid 1990’s and played on for the successful Vets sides of a few years ago. Bob has operated as a No2 with his insightfulness to a number of 1st team managers most notably Ken Steele and Mark Connors. A very successful businessman which limits his club time these days, he nevertheless has supported the club with generous donations over the seasons to help specific projects.
Geoff Lumb
Geoff has been involved with youth football for many years and has collected many awards recently for his outstanding contribution to football as a referee and also for his work with young people just beginning the football journey. At the young age of 85 Geoff has recently stepped back from his role as U4 – U9 Development officer but continues to support the club and help out whenever needed.
Alex Thomson
Alec started playing for the club back in the 1970’s and although his playing career was foreshortened with injury he continued an active role in the club as club secretary in the 1980’s and 1990’s. He has a parallel life in local football being an active committee member of the Notts Amateur Alliance for many years. This led on to greater roles in the Notts FA where he eventually became their Chairman from 2004 -09 and is currently the Notts FA President. He was invited and accepted the role of President of firstly Southbank and following that Gedling Southbank when it formed in 2006.
