Sunday 26th of April was a special game. The boys got the chance to play on the Notts County first team pitch.
We was put up against a team called Karimia, a team from the Sunday leagues who I knew nothing about so I wasn’t sure what sort of team we was about to do battle with.
The game kicked off and we was on the back foot from the off, Karimia stared much better than us and within three minutes they had took the lead from a shot we should of cleared.
The goal woke us up and we stared to work hard and put in tackles. On the sixteen minute mark we put a cross into the box and Luca finished well to make it 1-1.
From then on we looked ready and up to take the game to the Sunday league team. We won a free kick at the back, Corey took it fast and found Sam in the middle of the pitch, he ran forward and ar the perfect second played the ball out wide to Max who drove into the box, pulled the trigger and fired the ball into the back of the net making it 2-1 to GSB. I told the ball at half time about don’t diving in because they were good and clever on the ball. We kicked off and was straight on the attack, from a ball half cleared Ben picked the ball up and smashed it into the back of the net, it took just thirty seconds. 3-1GSB
We continued with the pressure and won a corner. From a great ball in Corey got is head to the ball and found the back of the net. 4-1 GSB. This didn’t put the Sunday league off and within five minutes they had pulled on back to make it 4-2. The next ten minutes was all Karimia with them pushing for another goal, some great defending from Liam, Max and Tom saw them chuck any part of there body in the way to block the shots.
We took the pressure and when Luca found him self in the line of goal he kept his head and found the far corner of the net to make it 5-2 GSB and finished it off for us.
The game finished 5-2. I’m so proud of all the boys who yet again stepped up to the plate and played for each other.
