The girls travelled to Calverton Miners Welfare expecting a tough game and that’s what they got. Yet again, the girls started fast and were on top early on, Lauren McNeil finish off a great move to put us 1 up before a fantastic solo goal from Fern Williams made it 2-0 and we were in control as the first half ended. As we are all about the squad, once again we ensured all 13 girls got to play, however making subs seemed to unhinge us even though individually the girls were playing well,we seemed to lose the centre of midfield in the 2nd half although restricting our oppositions to long range shots, and Ursula Cranston outstanding handling in goal throughout the game. Calverton’s constant pressure on us in the final 10 minutes finally resulted in a very nice goal for the opposition to leave it a very tense final few minutes, however we saw the game out for a 2-1 win to make it 7 out of 7 league wins, but we do realise we are the team everyone wants to beat.
