I am pleased to announce that from the 1st March 2014 Nick Edgar will replace myself as the Manager of Gedling Southbank FC 1st Team. Nick has been with the club as a player for the past few years and as Reserve team manager for this season. Although most of the senior guys in the club know Nick I am sure that most are not aware that he was an England Schoolboy International and played professionally at Reading and Stevenage. At just 39 Nick is looking to take this experience and push the whole of the senior section forward and has a real vision to take Gedling Southbank FC as far as possible.
As Chairman of the club I am really excited about this development and I am sure it is going to be a really positive move for the senior section and the club as a whole.
I shall continue to be involved with the 1st team for the remainder of this season as Team Secretary and probably will be back doing the same job next season to allow the guys to focus on the football. I do want to thank all the lads that have given me a lot of support over the past few seasons not least of these are Nick Day and Danny Riley who helped cajole a lot of the lads into playing and kept the team running.
