This weeks game against Stapleford Villa was the first ever encounter between the two clubs. Its the time of year when the pitch plays a big part on how the football is played and on a pitch in bad condition we still passed the ball round well.
It took just ten minutes for us to score the first goal, from a corner Ben saw Tom on the edge of the box and when Tom turned he fired the ball in to the net off the bottom of the far post.
It was then all one way traffic, winning ten corners in the first half and when Luca controlled a midfield splitting pass from Tom he took it into the box and made it 2-0 on the twenty first minute.
Stapleford Villa responded by scoring a minute later whilst we were still enjoying the second goal.
The second half saw Stapleford Villa come out strong and Ashton had to make a couple of good saves with Liam putting in a few strong tackles. Ben took a corner and scored from it and a minute later Billy beat two in the box to get his first ever goal and it took the fight out of Stapleford Villa.
We passed the ball around well and max finished from just inside the box to make it 5-1 after hitting the cross bar only seconds earlier. Corey worked hard and was unlucky not to score himself but when the ball came out Billy hit it back in and scored his second of the day.
We won a total of fifteen corners and on the last one in the last minute Ben put in yet another good cross and Ronnie put the ball in from a great header, 7-1 the final score.
Ben was voted man of the match after scoring one and working very hard. It was two wins out of two in the November league, just the start we wanted.
