Our new annual club award winners were announced at the Senior Presentation event in the 1862 Suite at Notts County last Saturday. So congratulations to Kevin Clapp who won the Club Coach of the Year and to Ian Sturgess who won Club Volunteer of the Year. Two very worthy winners who have excelled this season in their activities for the club.
Kevin has coached the very successful Girls U10 squad who are in their first season of competitive football and have only lost one game all season to date which is pretty staggering for a new team. Season after season Kevin has coached girls teams who have come through his own development programme and his quiet, supporting and determined approach is a successful recipe.
Ian is another seasoned campaigner in the club and his coaching support to not only his own U15 team but also to other teams in the club over the years and more latterly using his SAQ coaching techniques has benefitted many players. But his recent project of organising the 24 football marathon at Playfootball in aid of Clic Sargeant and the club funds on 15th May is a remarkable achievement.
