Here we go again

The start of the new season was us play host to Radcliffe Olympic blue, a team who we hadn’t played before but from the size of them and what I saw in the warm up before the game I knew it was going to be a hard game.
We started well, and that’s unlike us. Within the first minutes we had forced a save from the keeper and hit the post. It was Radcliffe who took the lead, three corner back to back saw us fail to clear the ball and from the 3rd corner saw found the net.
We was on level terns again within two minutes, a great corner kick from Ben saw Luca make the perfect timed run and he headed the ball home 1-1. Radcliffe responded well and put us under a lot of pressure forcing Ashton into three good saves, his next one was the best.
A miss timed tackle in the box saw Radcliffe awarded a penalty. Ashton pulled off two great saves to keep it at 1-1. The pressure paid off for Radcliffe and they got the goal they deserved just before half time. It was with the last kick of the half that saw Tom score a great volley from outside the box that found the top right hand corner of the goal. Half time 2-2
At the half time team talk I told the lads they had to keep the Radcliffe number 8 under control, he was running the game.
It took all of two minutes into the second half for the number 8 to score and put Radcliffe 3-2 up. I do like it when the boys listen to me lol.
For the next ten minutes it was all GSB, some good passing and working hard for each other saw chances fall to Tom, Ben and Luca to equal the score but it was a good pass from Max that put Ethan away on a run into the box and he finished well putting the ball under the keeper to make it 3-3.
At 3-3 with ten minutes left any of the team could of took the win and when guess who, the Radcliffe number 8 scored the 4th it looked like it would be enough. From yet another good passing move, Corey found Ethan, than Ben put the ball into the box where Tom hit the cross bar but when the ball came back out to him he shot / crossed the ball back in for Ben to tap in from two yards
Just when I thought it was all over Corey hit a ball from distance that forced the keeper into a great save, from that save Radcliffe went up the other end of the pitch and put a shot just wide. The full time 4-4 and both teams had put in a great days work and it was a fair result.
Ashton was given man of the match but the team had all  played a part in a great game. Well done boys.
