TOTON TIGERS U10 ORANGE v GSB U10 RED
Today saw GSB U10 Red’s travel to Chetwyn Barracks to face Toton Tigers Orange, whom had got the better of the last two games between these teams.
The game kicked off at 11:30 due to other games being played on the site and the first half saw both sides create numerous chances with some excellent goalkeeping from both sides seeing the score 0-0 at half time.
In the 7th minute of the second half Toton took the lead through a well taken goal.
3 minutes later GSB pulled level when Corky played a perfectly weighted ball through for Chappers, who fired the ball across the goal first time where Mozza was on hand to score his 4th goal in 4 games.
Both sides continued to create chances but just could not find the break through. However Toton did take the lead with 3 minutes remaining with an excellent finish from their striker who calmly put the ball past the goalkeeper.
GSB pushed on and played some wonderful football today but just could not find the back of the net. That was until the 2nd minute of added on time. Chappers got on to the ball after a clearance from GSB and carried the ball into the Toton half. He pulled the trigger and the ball was heading straight into the net but the striker instincts of Pates saw him toe the ball over the line.
Toton kicked off and after two touches the ref blew for full time. What a great end to a great game of football which was watched by two excellent sets of parents and was a pleasure to be part of.
Man of the Match: Once again this is very difficult to say but for keeping going to the end and providing GSB with some excellent moments, it goes to Drew ‘Chappers’ Chapman.
