This weekends game saw us back at West Park to play West Bridgford Firebolts.
For todays game Adam aka Stevo would be stepping in as the manager as I was unable to make the game, Id like to say a big thank you to Stevo, I had no doubts that the team was in great hands.
For the first ten minutes there was nothing in it between both teams but from then on we started making a few chancers. Ben had two great chancers to open the scoring but fired on over and one straight to the keeper.
Billy scored twice last week and when he picked the ball up and took it round the oncoming defender he scored yet another one of his trade mark goals finding the back of the net.
From another attacking play Ben charged down the wing to put a good cross into the box for Josh to tap in and get the second goal, 2-0 GSB.
After missing two chancers Ben scored the 3rd from a good individual goal, running at the two Firebolt defenders and finishing well. It gave us a 3-0 half time score line
The second half saw West Bridgford come out the stronger and the lads had to work hard across the pitch, Billy and Liam were amazing once again with so many great tackles but when they did get beat Ashton was up to the task and he was looking for a two clean sheets in a row.
Max and Luca both made a few good runs into the Firebolts half but nothing came from it.
With five minutes left Luca charged into the box and beat the keeper to make it 4-0 and game over, it had been a tough half for us but the team spirit we have is great and we never looked like losing.
Ben was voted man of the match but it could of easy been Liam, Billy.
With the 3rd win in the march league it kept us top, five points clear of second place with only two games left……….I smell another trophy lol
