A brilliant display from the girls saw them beat defending champions St Francis, Mackworth 2-1 in an enthralling semi final at Arnold Mill School last Sunday.
GSB dominated the first 2 quarters and deserved the 1-0 lead they took going into half time., thanks to a well taken goal from Gizzy. Early in the 3rd quarter the match was even up when our opponents were awarded a penalty and we could have no complaints as it was a clear foul inside the box. We continued to pressure and were in control of the game yet needed that crucial goal. Then the St Francis, Mackworth goalkeeper handled he ball outside the box and we were awarded a direct free kick which Charlotte dispatched high into the top left hand corner of the net. What a finish and it deserved to win any game. Well done girls a brilliant achievement to reach another final.
