The girls hosted our friends from Bingham Town just 3 weeks after a 0-0 draw in the reverse fixture, goals are always at a premium in these games so the feeling was one of battling a team of equal ability.
Unusual for us we started very slowly and struggled with our opponents pressure in midfield, they were overrunning us and we couldn’t get hold of the ball. They deserved to go ahead with a sweeping move which ended with the ball been smashed into the net. A tactical change was required as the siege continued and we were just about hanging in the game. We finally got an attack going and a ball across the box was claimed by the goalkeeper who seemed to take her eye of the ball and let it fall out of her hands right into Beth’s path and she put it into the empty net to make it 1-1. We got the break and needed to start playing which we seemed to do with more confidence and a cross from right wing from Lauren somehow ended up in the net to give us the lead. This was followed by another good finish by Gizzy and we were 3-1 up at half time after a very odd 30 minutes.
2nd half we were better and really started to control the game, however we went through another phase of missing chance after chance similar to the reverse fixture at Butt Field. The game should have been out of reach of our opponents but they stuck in an caused us a few problems towards the end, but we finished the game comfortably.

Best thing about today was the character the girls showed when behind and when we got in front our passing was superb and well received by both set of supporters.
